Summer 2008 Sumunar Concerts
Enjoy gamelan music and Indonesian dance this summer, all around the Twin Cities!
Summer performances include:
  • Saturday, May 31: Sumunar Youth Ensembles perform at the Flint Hills Festival, Rice Park in downtown St. Paul, 2:30 p.m., Parade at 1 p.m. Free.

  • Wednesday, June 4: Sumunar Gamelan Ensemble at Como Lakeside Pavilion in St. Paul, 7 p.m. Free.

  • Wednesday, June 11: Sumunar Gamelan Ensemble performs at Hennepin County Government Center courtyard, Noon.

  • Wednesday, June 18: Sumunar Gamelan Ensemble performs at Father Hennepin Bluffs Bandstand near the Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis, 7 p.m. Free.

  • Sunday, July 13: Sumunar Youth Ensemble performs at Dragon Festival at Phalen Lake Park, St. Paul.

  • Saturday, July 26: Sumunar Gamelan Ensemble performs in Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theater's Decorate the Well in Gratitute. More information at www.hobt.org.

Hiring the Gamelan and Dancers
IPAAM gamelan and dance groups are available to perform at large and small functions, from public events, to private parties. We can create an ensemble and program appropriate to your needs.
 
International Novelty Gamelan
International Novelty Gamelan is a group of musicians who use gamelan instruments in non-traditional ways. The group composes and plays new compositions that mix musical styles and instruments. The group performs from time to time in the Twin Cities.
